So recently it was going around that the mods of FFNet were planning on shutting down the site, but apparently the rumour goes around once a year or so. Either way, it’s a good idea to back up the fics you want to hold onto anyway! Though some people have reported that they can’t access it anymore, so I guess it might actually be happening. I can still access it on the mobile site, but yeah, not 100 on it. :P
Either way, FFNet is very inferior to AO3, so I won’t be surprised if it does finally die for good. I’ve backed up my own fics on there, just in case :P
fun fact: if you pirated six full length albums from your favourite band, listened to them all back to back 5 times, and then sent them $20 on ko-fi or whatever, on average they would have earned slightly more money per play than they’d get from you streaming the same shit with ads on spotify.
